Fresno Valentine Run

This years event will NOT be held at Woodward Park (but it is not canceled, we will have both a marked course and a virtual run. Read on...)

While we are in a "Purple Tier" our county is not approving "in-person" races. At the same time, the California State Department of Public Health states:

"Members of the same household are encouraged to maintain physical and mental health by safely going to a park, a beach, hike, walk, or bike ride with members of their own household." (https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-for-essential-needs/)
Running is listed as an outdoor, low contact sport permitted in Purple Tier. All sports permitted in lower tiers, are also permitted in higher tiers. (https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/COVID-19/outdoor-indoor-recreational-sports.aspx)

We have been working hard to bring running activities that are compliant with state and county rules, while providing the opportunity to maintain physical and mental health through permitted exercise. This years Valentine Run is modified to meet these goals.

2021 Valentine Run is "Virtual" intended for individual, or members of the same household to participate.

Virtual runners can run anywhere and post their times two ways.
- Using RaceJoy RunAnywhere, times are posted automatically when you reach 3.1 miles.
- Manually post virtual run times on our results page
- You can also post a photo with your results

For runners in Fresno/Clovis, CA we are planning to mark and decorate a 3.1 mile course starting south of Railroad Park
- This is NOT an organized in person event, simply a decorated course available Saturday, Feb 13th- Sunday, Feb 14th
- No Aid Stations, chip timing, or awards, bring your own hydration/nutrition
- Select time slots during registration to find a time that others are not running
- We recommend less than 15 people run within a 15 minute window
- Please do not congregate before and after your run

Wherever you choose to maintain physical and mental health by safely going for a run, we encourage everyone follow state and county guidelines for everyone's safety.

Shinzen Garden

Tour what is possibly the most romantic place in Fresno.

The Shinzen Friendship Garden will provide coupons for a free entry for our participants to tour the garden. Admission is free, donations to the garden are accepted.

Come tour the peace and beauty of Shinzen and the Clark Bonsai Collection. With landscape views at every turn of the path, your stroll along the walkways is a pleasant and rewarding experience. Discovering the art of bonsai through the notable Clark Bonsai Collection and the sculptures created is a gift to your senses.

Shinzen is a place for exploration, learning, reflection, serenity and renewal. During your visit, please be respectful of the grounds and of other visitors who are enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of the Garden.

Shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations prior to February 7th. Please register early so we can include your size in the shirt order.
